Boilerhouse Technical Risk Assessment (BTRA)

The aim of this service is to provide a comprehensive boilerhouse risk assessment that meets the requirements of INDG436: Safe Management of industrial steam and hot water boilers and BG01 Guidance on Safe Operation of Steam Boilers. The assessor will identify and evaluate risks and hazards in the boilerhouse as well as measures necessary to control them. Upon completion, the participants will receive a completed BTRA that can be used as an official document.

Who is boilerhouse risk assessment training for?

This service is for any boilerhouse managers or operators that require a BTRA, or those who wish to gain a better understanding of the process.

Who conducts the boilerhouse technical risk assessment?

The BTRA is conducted by one of our certified instructors. The training will take place on the participants’ site over a period of two days. The first day will begin with the instructor conducting their own BTRA, followed by 4-5 hours of client interaction. The second day will consist of the instructor drafting a BTRA

What will participants learn?

The aim of this service is to provide participants with the necessary training on how to conduct a boilerhouse risk assessment. The course will cover the following topics:

  • The legislation governing boilerhouse risk assessments
  • The types of hazards associated with boilerhouses
  • How to identify and assess risks associated with boilerhouses
  • How to put in place control measures to mitigate the risks associated with boilerhouses

No pre-existing knowledge is required to enrol on this course. This service is for individuals wishing to learn how to conduct a boilerhouse risk assessment.
